Project Summary:
The Catholic University Dining Hall is a two-story, 35,000-square-foot dining and student success facility serving The Catholic University of America campus in Washington, D.C. Dedicated on December 5, 2022, the facility significantly expanded campus dining capacity by providing seating for 490 students and creating a modern, centralized destination for meals, gathering, and daily student interaction. The building was designed to support a more flexible and engaging campus dining experience, with multiple food service venues, open seating areas, and student-focused spaces that accommodate both everyday use and peak campus demand. As a prominent addition to the university’s student life infrastructure, Catholic University Dining Hall enhances convenience, supports community-building, and contributes to the overall quality of the campus experience.
Doyle Systems’ Scope of Work:
Doyle Systems provided the mechanical and plumbing systems that support the day-to-day operation of Catholic University Dining Hall and its student-focused spaces. The work included major air-handling, ventilation, hydronic, ductwork, and snow melt systems, along with testing and balancing to ensure proper performance. The plumbing scope included domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, gas piping, water heating and recirculation equipment, mixing valves, sterilization, and elevator sump pumping.
